Trauma & Perinatal Therapy
Welcome! I’m Celia! I am glad you’ve found your way here.
If you’re navigating trauma, anxiety, or the transition into parenthood, you're in the right place. I offer trauma and perinatal therapy bringing in EMDR, somatic therapy, and parts work to help you create lasting change.
Who I Help
The people I work with often come having done a lot of self-reflection and have a strong understanding of themselves, but are still feeling stuck or impacted by the past. They may know why they struggle, yet find that understanding alone hasn’t created the change they’re hoping for. If you’re looking for a way to go beyond insight and explore healing through creativity, imagination, or body-based awareness, you may find my approach especially supportive. Together, we explore what’s keeping you stuck so you can feel more connected to yourself, more grounded, and more confident in your own inner compass.
What Therapy Looks Like
Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and experiential. We’ll spend time understanding your experiences, emotions, and patterns, while also exploring the deeper layers of healing that happen through the mind and body.
My approach integrates:
-
EMDR is a well-researched, evidence-based therapy and one of the leading approaches for trauma healing. It helps the brain process experiences that may still feel emotionally or physically “stuck.” Rather than needing to talk through every detail of a difficult experience, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, to support the brain’s natural processing system. Over time, this can help lessen the intensity of difficult memories and reactions, allowing you to feel less impacted by the past and more present in your life.
-
Parts work is a way of understanding the different thoughts, feelings, and protective patterns that can show up within us. You may notice one part of you wants to move forward while another feels afraid, overwhelmed, critical, or stuck in old patterns. Rather than trying to get rid of these parts, we approach them with curiosity and compassion. This can help you better understand yourself, soften inner conflict, and reconnect with a deeper sense of yourself underneath those protective patterns.
-
Somatic psychotherapy brings attention to the connection between your mind, body, and nervous system. Sometimes we can understand something intellectually while our body continues to respond as though we’re still in danger. We’ll pay attention to sensations, emotions, movement, breath, and your nervous system to help you notice and work with what’s happening in your body. This can create new opportunities for regulation, connection, and healing that go beyond talking alone.
-
Mindfulness and body awareness invite us to slow down and become more curious about what is happening in the present moment. We may notice thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, breath, or impulses without needing to immediately change or fix them. These practices can help you develop a deeper awareness of yourself, recognize what you need, and create more space to respond rather than react.
I value neurodivergent-affirming care and believe therapy should work with the way your brain works. We’ll take time to understand how you experience the world and make sense of things - and I love getting creative together to find what feels supportive and useful for you.
Perinatal Therapy
For those navigating the perinatal period: Pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the transition into parenthood can be deeply transformative, bringing both incredible strength and unexpected challenges. Whether you’re preparing for birth, healing from a difficult experience, navigating postpartum, or adjusting to a new identity and role, therapy can offer a space to slow down and recalibrate. I bring EMDR, somatic work, and other experiential approaches into this work to support you in processing what you’ve been through, exploring your shifting identity, strengthening your inner resources, and feeling more grounded as you move through this new chapter.
